A law firm seeks an Asbestos Associate Attorney in Los Angeles, CA, to handle local and national accounts throughout California. The ideal candidate will independently manage a litigation caseload and possess the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Asbestos Associate Attorney will primarily focus on handling litigation cases related to asbestos exposure, toxic tort liability, and environmental liability. The role entails managing a caseload, conducting depositions, preparing witnesses, and supporting trial preparation.

Duties:

  • Handle local and national accounts throughout the state of California.
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload.
  • Conduct depositions.
  • Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
  • Review and analyze discovery requests.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery responses and pleadings.
  • Prepare court filings and service to counsel; experience with e-filing.
  • Trial preparation and support.
  • Maintain accurate time records.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in complex litigation, toxic tort, or environmental liability.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the state of California.
  • Experience with motion practice and depositions.
  • Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Capable of independent work.
  • Organized and efficient work style.
  • Superior research and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to analyze complex matters.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice in the state of California.
