Duties

  • Draft patent applications and office action responses for a diverse clientele in various technology areas.
  • Demonstrate exceptional technical and legal writing skills, effectively explaining technical innovations within the framework of patent law jurisprudence.
  • Independently conduct research to gain proficiency in unfamiliar technology domains.
  • Exhibit self-motivation to consistently meet work product deadlines or complete projects ahead of schedule.

Requirements

  • Hold a science or technical degree, with preference given to candidates with backgrounds in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering disciplines.
  • Possess a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school or be currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Maintain admission to the USPTO Patent Bar or demonstrate eligibility to sit for the USPTO Patent Bar.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or technical field (Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the USPTO Patent Bar or eligibility to sit for the USPTO Patent Bar.

  • Strong technical and legal writing skills, with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills to quickly understand and apply unfamiliar technical concepts.
