Family Law Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, seeks an experienced Family Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience handling various aspects of family law, including divorce, child support, custody, adoption, and domestic violence cases. Probate experience is a plus for overflow cases. The candidate must possess a D.C. Bar License.

Duties:

• Handle a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child support, custody, adoption, and domestic violence cases.
• Conducted legal research, drafted legal documents, and represented clients in court proceedings.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on family law issues.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on complex cases.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as required.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the D.C. Bar.
• 5-7 years of experience practicing family law.
• Proven experience handling divorce, child support, custody, adoption, and domestic violence cases.
• Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
