Job Overview:

The Estate Planning and Administration Attorney will oversee and manage the probate estate process, draft a range of estate planning documents, and foster strong client relationships. The ideal candidate should possess at least 5+ years of relevant experience and be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Duties:

  • Administer probate estates, ensuring compliance with all necessary filings and documentation the probate court requires.
  • Draft basic and sophisticated estate planning documents, incorporating estate and income tax planning, including irrevocable trusts.
  • Lead in-person client meetings, demonstrating excellent client relationship skills.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on estate planning and administration matters.
  • Stay informed about changes in estate planning laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience as an Estate Planning and Administration Attorney.
  • Licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Skills:

  • Proficient in administering probate estates and preparing required filings.
  • Strong drafting skills for a variety of estate planning documents.
  • Demonstrated client relationship skills with the ability to lead in-person meetings.
