Labor Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Labor Associate Attorney in Seattle, WA. The role focuses on management labor relations, providing legal advice and representation in various labor-related matters. The position may occasionally involve advising on California workplace laws and other assignments as needed.

Duties

• Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
• Research and write on management labor relations topics.
• Represent management in NLRB elections.
• Advise employers on union organizing and corporate campaigns.
• Negotiate and advise on collective bargaining agreements.
• Manage grievance and arbitration proceedings.
• Obtain mass picketing injunctions.
• Provide legal advice on protected concerted activity under the NLRA.
• Conduct management training on labor relations.
• Advise on union work stoppage situations.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 2 years of traditional labor law experience.
• WA Bar Admission.
• Understanding of current state and federal agency enforcement techniques.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the Washington State Bar.

Skills

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Willingness to travel for business purposes.
