A law firm is seeking a Benefits And Executive Compensation Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of experience to join their team in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on employee benefits matters, such as qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, and nonqualified plans, and advising on compensation and benefits issues in corporate transactions, including ESOP transactions. Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, a can-do, problem-solving attitude, intrinsic motivation, and strong academic credentials are required. Large law firm benefits experience is preferred.

Job Overview:

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice on employee benefits matters.
  • Advise clients on qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, and nonqualified plans.
  • Assist in corporate transactions by advising on compensation and benefits issues, including ESOP transactions.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide support in negotiations.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefit plans.
  • Review and draft plan documents, amendments, and other legal agreements.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and team members on client matters.
  • Provide support in litigation matters related to employee benefits and executive compensation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • 4-6 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA, tax, and securities laws.
  • Experience with corporate transactions and ESOP transactions preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in MN.
