Labor and Employment Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated Labor and Employment Attorney to join their Sacramento, California office. Duties

• Represent clients in administrative disciplinary investigations and hearings.

• Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and address labor-related disputes.

• Litigate grievances and unfair practice charges before agencies such as PERB and NLRB.

• Defend retirement claims against entities such as CalPERS.

• Provide critical incident response services as part of a 24-hour on-call rotation.

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft persuasive briefs, motions, and legal documents.

• Advise and communicate with clients regarding case developments and strategies.

• Collaborate with team members to develop creative solutions to complex legal challenges.

Requirements

• Admission to the California State Bar (active and in good standing).

• 2 to 5 years of experience in labor and employment law or related fields.

• Strong legal research and analytical skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Familiarity with LexisNexis or other legal research tools.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Willingness to travel as required for client representation and hearings.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
