The law firm is seeking a Mid-level Chemical Science Patent Prosecution Patent Agent to join its team in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality legal services to clients by preparing draft patent applications, responding to communications from the USPTO, and providing valuable support to attorneys.

 

Duties:

  • Perform highly complex and sensitive client work, demonstrating a high level of professional capability and skill.
  • Prepare draft patent applications and draft responses to communications from the USPTO.
  • Assist attorneys in delivering quality legal services to clients efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Draft and prosecute chemical science patent applications.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to ensure the accuracy and completeness of patent documents.
  • Conduct legal research to support patent prosecution activities.
  • Provide assistance in client communication and case management.

 

Requirements:

  • High level of academic achievement.
  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience.
  • Superb writing and communication skills.
  • Admission to the USPTO.

 

Education:

Degree in organic chemistry or chemical engineering.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the USPTO.

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in drafting and prosecuting chemical science patent applications.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
