A law firm located in New York City is seeking a Mergers and Acquisitions Resource Attorney with 7+ years of experience in a US M&A corporate/transactional practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to deal management, document preparation, knowledge management, legal education, marketing, and client development within the M&A practice group. The Mergers and Acquisitions Resource Attorney will play a vital role in supporting the firm's M&A practice by assisting with deal management, document preparation, knowledge management, legal education, marketing initiatives, and client development efforts. This role requires strong expertise in M&A transactions, excellent drafting and organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects effectively.

 

Duties:

  • Input deal terms from signed firm deals into the Transaction Database and coordinate with the knowledge management team to audit and maintain the database
  • Prepare drafts or revise existing precedent template documents
  • Curate and organize the M&A group's forms, precedents, and other know-how
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relative to M&A practice and prepare summaries and alerts regarding the same
  • Coordinate with the legal education team to brainstorm content for associate trainings and other firmwide training efforts related to M&A
  • Work closely with the M&A marketing team to strategize on M&A promotion and assist with content creation for pitches and teach-ins
  • Assist attorneys with day-to-day requests for precedents, templates, and other resources
  • Participate in resource, knowledge management, and practice innovation projects
  • Handle multiple ongoing projects, including coordinating with attorneys and other stakeholders

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney with 7+ years of experience in a US M&A corporate/transactional practice
  • Basic understanding of public and private M&A, corporate governance, board fiduciary duties, and market trends
  • Associate experience with M&A transactions, both public and private, is a transferable skill

 

Education and Certifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Skills:

  • Strong drafting and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and coordinate with various stakeholders
  • Expertise in M&A transactions and corporate law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in data management
