Patent Agent

A law firm in Irvine, CA, is seeking a skilled Patent Agent with experience in Intellectual Property (IP), particularly in drafting and patent prosecution. The ideal candidate should possess a background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with design engineering experience in a chip company being advantageous. Candidates with expertise in networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless networks, or similar areas are preferred. The individual must be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and have 2-6 years of legal experience.

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications in various technological fields.
• Conduct prior art searches and patentability assessments.
• Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and clients to strategize patent prosecution efforts.
• Provide technical expertise and analysis during patent litigation proceedings.
• Assist with patent portfolio management and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 2-6 years of legal experience in patent prosecution.
• Strong understanding of Intellectual Property laws and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

Certifications:

• Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills:
