Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a dynamic attorney to contribute to its expanding environmental law team. This role is ideal for legal professionals with demonstrated experience handling regulatory compliance, litigation support, and environmental due diligence. The position offers exposure to a wide variety of complex environmental legal matters and the opportunity to work within a collaborative team environment that values professional development and legal excellence.

Duties:

  • Support environmental compliance strategies involving federal and state regulations

  • Conduct due diligence reviews for real estate and corporate transactions with environmental implications

  • Draft, review, and analyze environmental agreements and documents

  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings and environmental litigation

  • Collaborate with cross-practice teams on transactional matters involving environmental risk

  • Research emerging environmental legal issues and regulatory developments

  • Assist in preparing presentations, memoranda, and legal briefs for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience focused on environmental regulatory, litigation, or transactional work

  • Proven legal writing and analytical capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting

  • Familiarity with environmental statutes such as CERCLA, RCRA, CAA, and CWA

  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Eligibility for North Carolina Bar admission (preferred if not already admitted)

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research using platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis

  • Precision in drafting and reviewing legal documentation

  • Strategic thinking and sound judgment

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Proficiency in managing client relationships and external communications
