A leading law firm is seeking a highly skilled Personal Injury Trial Attorney to join its team. This position offers an opportunity to work on high-profile cases, with a focus on managing personal injury cases from pre-litigation through to trial. The successful candidate will be responsible for case management, negotiation, and trial preparation, contributing significantly to the firm's success and client satisfaction.

Duties

  • Manage and develop pre-litigation cases, from retention to settlement

  • Handle litigation files from inception to trial

  • Attend depositions of witnesses, experts, and medical professionals

  • Develop case strategies and analyze value drivers for settlement

  • Communicate effectively with clients, experts, and opposing counsel

  • Serve as a competitive negotiator in settlement discussions

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure successful case outcomes

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of personal injury experience (insurance defense experience is a plus)

  • At least 3 years of first-chair plaintiff personal injury trial experience

  • Experience with cases involving commercial vehicles preferred

  • Knowledge of defense litigation and trucking/commercial law is a plus

  • Strong organizational and case management skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines efficiently

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Current member of the Texas Bar Association in good standing

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written)

  • Proven trial experience, including first-chair plaintiff trials

  • Ability to develop case strategies and identify key settlement drivers

  • Familiarity with commercial vehicle and defense litigation is a plus

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
