A law firm in Portland is seeking an Employee Benefits Attorney with 5+ years of experience to counsel employers on a wide range of ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements, including retirement plans and health and welfare plans. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Counsel employers on all types of ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements.
  • Provide guidance on retirement plans, health, and welfare plans.
  • Draft and review plan documents, amendments, and communications.
  • Advise on compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Assist clients with IRS and DOL audits.
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on benefit-related issues.
  • Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes affecting employee benefits.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing as an Employee Benefits Attorney.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA and related regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the California State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Expertise in counseling employers on employee benefits matters.
  • Ability to draft and review complex plan documents.
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
