Immigration Managing Attorney

Job Overview

A reputable and expanding law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Managing Attorney to lead its Immigration Law Department. This leadership role is ideal for an immigration law professional with strong managerial skills, litigation experience, and a commitment to delivering exceptional legal representation and client service.

Location

• Fort Worth, TX

Duties

• Lead and manage a team of immigration attorneys and paralegals

• Oversee caseload distribution and ensure effective workload management

• Monitor and manage team members' performance and case outcomes

• Review and maintain proper recordkeeping and case file documentation

• Represent clients in USCIS, EOIR, and consular matters

• Prepare FOIA requests, FBI background checks, and other document requests

• Act as lead or co-counsel on complex immigration cases

• Conduct departmental meetings and performance evaluations

• Train and mentor legal staff to ensure high-quality client service

• Collaborate with the Chief Legal Officer on strategic goals and personnel matters

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience practicing immigration law

• Strong background in USCIS applications (e.g., family-based petitions, asylum, U Visa, T Visa, VAWA, waivers)

• EOIR litigation experience (e.g., cancellation of removal, asylum, motions to reopen, bond hearings)

• Prior legal management or supervisory experience

• Strong commitment to legal ethics, accountability, and professional development

• Ability to manage deadlines and lead a legal team in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the United States
