Job Overview:

A dedicated legal practice specializing in immigration law with a growing focus on criminal defense is seeking a skilled and compassionate Criminal Defense Attorney. This full-time position offers the flexibility to work from home (WFH) while representing clients facing criminal charges. The ideal candidate will have experience in criminal law, with a strong ability to navigate complex legal issues and advocate for clients in the criminal justice system.

Location:

  • Fort Worth, TX

Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal defense proceedings, including hearings and appeals

  • Provide legal counsel to clients regarding the implications of criminal charges

  • Conduct legal research and analysis of relevant criminal laws and regulations

  • Prepare and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and applications for relief

  • Collaborate with other legal professionals, community organizations, and advocacy groups

  • Keep clients informed about case progress and provide regular updates on legal strategies

  • Stay updated on changes in criminal law and relevant case law

  • Engage in community outreach and education on criminal justice issues

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (Required)

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar (Required)

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in criminal defense and post-conviction relief (Required)

  • Strong understanding of the criminal legal system (Required)

  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills (Required)

  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills (Required)

  • Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural competency (Required)

  • Commitment to social justice and client-centered advocacy (Required)

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (Preferred)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (Required)

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar (Required)
