Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a senior associate or junior partner with 6–8 years of experience in environmental and energy law to support its Environmental Transactions practice. This role focuses on managing environmental matters in connection with a broad range of corporate and financing transactions, particularly in the energy sector. The position offers the opportunity to lead due diligence efforts, negotiate complex contractual provisions, and counsel clients on regulatory, disclosure, and compliance issues. Ideal candidates will have deep experience in environmental law and a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory landscape and transaction process.

Location:

  • Palo Alto, CA

Duties:

  • Manage environmental aspects of corporate and financing transactions, especially within the energy industry

  • Conduct and oversee environmental due diligence reviews

  • Draft and negotiate environmental provisions for transaction and financing documents

  • Draft environmental disclosure sections for SEC filings and public company reports

  • Research and analyze emerging issues in environmental and energy law

  • Advise clients on environmental compliance and restructuring matters

Requirements:

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in environmental and energy law

  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate transactions and environmental regulatory compliance

  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state environmental statutes and regulatory frameworks

  • Strong understanding of the energy industry and transaction lifecycle

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Exceptional academic credentials required

  • Law school transcript must be available upon request

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills

  • Strong drafting and negotiation abilities

  • Exceptional legal research and analytical skills

  • Ability to lead complex matters and collaborate across disciplines

  • High attention to detail and project management capability
