A law firm seeks a Patent Agent with a focus on Electrical Engineering to join a dynamic legal team in Washington, D.C. This role is perfect for an individual with expertise in emerging technologies such as 5GWi-Fiartificial intelligence, and other cutting-edge fields. The Patent Agent will collaborate with clients and attorneys to evaluate invention technology, assess patentability, and draft and prosecute patent applications. The position offers an excellent opportunity for growth in intellectual property law with a focus on technology and innovation.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with inventors and researchers to evaluate technologies and assess patentability
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications for innovations related to wireless technologiesAIprocessor systems, and more
  • Work on patent portfolio management and provide strategic guidance for clients
  • Respond to USPTO actions and assist in maintaining and expanding patent portfolios
  • Stay updated on advancements in technology to ensure accurate representation of evolving innovations
  • Work alongside attorneys to navigate patent law and provide advice on patent strategies
  • Develop expertise in specific areas of wireless communicationsautonomous vehicles, and other emerging fields

Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • At least two years of patent prosecution experience
  • Experience with 5GWi-FiAIprocessor/memory systems, and related technologies
  • Registered with the USPTO or eligible to register
  • Strong understanding of RF front-endimage processing, and similar technologies
  • Excellent researchwriting, and communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field

Certifications:

  • Registered Patent Agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) or eligible to register

Skills:

  • Proficient in drafting patent applications and navigating patent prosecution
  • Strong technical expertise in 5GWi-Fi, and AI-related technologies
  • Ability to work effectively with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, including autonomous vehiclesrobotics, and computer vision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
