Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is actively recruiting a Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation Practice Group. This position is ideal for attorneys with 3–4 years of patent litigation experience. A technical background is advantageous, but not required for those with strong litigation credentials. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, complex patent disputes with a team of seasoned legal professionals.

Location:

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of patent litigation, including pre-suit investigations, pleadings, discovery, claim construction, and trial preparation

  • Draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and correspondence related to patent disputes

  • Conduct legal and technical research to support litigation strategies

  • Work closely with expert witnesses and assist in preparation for deposition and trial testimony

  • Participate in hearings, depositions, and client meetings

  • Collaborate with litigation teams to develop and execute case strategy

Requirements:

  • 3–4 years of experience in patent litigation

  • Technical background (preferred but not required with sufficient litigation experience)

  • Strong understanding of IP litigation processes, including claim construction and discovery

  • Admitted to practice law in either New York or Washington, D.C.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Solid academic record

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in New York or Washington, D.C.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stakes legal environment
