Job Overview:
A law firm located in Atlanta, GA, focused on creditor-side legal representation, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to support its litigation practice. The role will concentrate on debt recovery matters and may also involve responsibilities in bankruptcy proceedings and real estate-related actions. This position is suited for a proactive legal professional with experience in collections or financial litigation who can work both autonomously and as part of a team.

Duties:

• Advocate on behalf of clients in state and federal courts, particularly in cases related to debt collection, replevin actions, and bankruptcy matters

• Draft litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, with attention to accuracy and clarity

• Conduct legal research and compose memoranda that support litigation strategy and case development

• Coordinate with support staff and paralegals to ensure timely document preparation and court filings

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, opposing parties, and court personnel

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in collections, creditor-side litigation, or related practice areas

• Admitted to practice law in Georgia and good standing with the State Bar

• Strong command of litigation processes, particularly within the creditors’ rights or financial legal sectors

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and work efficiently under pressure

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• An active Georgia Bar license is required

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and verbal communication abilities

• Strong analytical thinking and case strategy formulation skills

• Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw

• Experience with legal practice software, particularly JST/CollectMax, is advantageous

• Capable of maintaining professionalism in client interactions and court appearances
