Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a qualified Mid-Level Patent Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in handling and managing Hatch-Waxman or biotherapeutics cases in District Court or before the PTAB. The ideal candidate should possess strong research, writing, and analytic skills, along with the ability to mentor junior associates. This position requires excellent organizational skills, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively, and a technical life science undergraduate and/or graduate degree is preferred.

Duties:

  • Handle and manage Hatch-Waxman or biotherapeutics cases in District Court or before the PTAB.
  • Litigate and manage therapeutic cases, including biological or chemical matters.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting of legal documents.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to more junior associates.
  • Demonstrate strong management and organizational skills in case management.
  • Work independently and creatively on legal strategies and solutions.
  • Collaborate successfully as part of a legal team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior work experience in patent litigation.
  • Experience handling and managing Hatch-Waxman or biotherapeutics cases.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytic skills.
  • Ability to manage and mentor more junior associates.
  • Excellent management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively.
  • Team player with effective collaboration skills.
  • Technical life science undergraduate and/or graduate degree preferred.
  • Excellent academic credentials and references.
  • Current license to practice law in the District of Columbia or eligibility to become licensed.

Education:

  • Technical life science undergraduate and/or graduate degree preferred.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be currently licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia or currently eligible to become licensed.
