Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Birmingham, AL is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its rapidly growing Healthcare & Corporate practice. The role involves providing legal counsel to clients in the healthcare and private equity sectors across a wide range of matters, including regulatory compliance, corporate transactions, and litigation support. This position offers the opportunity to work with high-profile clients and collaborate within an experienced legal team on sophisticated commercial matters.

Location:

  • Birmingham, Alabama

Duties:

  • Advise clients on corporate and healthcare law matters including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures

  • Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents such as purchase agreements, employment contracts, and compliance policies

  • Provide guidance on regulatory compliance including HIPAA, Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and FDA regulations

  • Support select litigation cases involving governance issues, malpractice, employment disputes, and administrative hearings

  • Conduct legal research and due diligence to support corporate and healthcare transactions

  • Advise on corporate governance and shareholder relations

  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure effective communication throughout case matters

  • Collaborate with legal colleagues to develop case strategy and ensure high-quality client service

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in healthcare and/or corporate law (preferred)

  • Licensed to practice in Alabama or eligible for admission

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex legal issues independently

  • Availability to travel when required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in Alabama or eligibility to waive in

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Organizational and time-management capabilities

  • Team-oriented with the ability to also work independently

  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and corporate compliance frameworks
