Sherman & Howard is proud to welcome seven new attorneys to the Denver office and two to the Phoenix office. Seven of the attorneys are returning to Sherman & Howard after completing the firm’s Summer Associate Program.
 
“We’re pleased to welcome these new lawyers to the firm and look forward to providing unique opportunities and a culture in which they are able to grow their knowledge and practices,” said Sherman & Howard CEO Stefan Stein.
 
Sherman & Howard welcomes the following attorneys:
 
Nasir Ahmed is an associate in the firm’s Litigation practice group in the Phoenix office. He received his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where he served as associate editor and articles editor for Jurimetrics, The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology. As a law student and judicial intern, he drafted motions and orders and competed in nationally recognized moot court competitions. Ahmed is returning to Sherman & Howard after completing the firm’s 2022 Summer Associate Program.
 
Elizabeth Farschon is an associate in our Business and Real Estate practice group in the Denver office. She received her Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School, where she served as the senior notes editor for the William & Mary Business Law Review. Prior to law school, Farschon gained valuable experience while working as a legal assistant with a Workers’ Compensation law firm in Virginia. Farschon is returning to Sherman & Howard after completing the firm’s 2022 Summer Associate Program.
 
Emily Girkins practices in the firm’s Labor and Employment practice group in the Phoenix office. She received her Juris Doctor from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where she served as articles editor for Jurimetrics, The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology and was a founding member of the Stetson Moot Court Team. Girkins also has experience drafting petitions for special action before Arizona Court of Appeals.
 
John “Jack” Gray is an associate in the firm’s Litigation practice group in the Denver office. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he served on the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology and the North Carolina Law Review. Gray also spent time as a judicial intern with the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Gray is returning to Sherman & Howard after completing the firm’s 2022 Summer Associate Program.
 
Christopher Kenney is an associate in the firm’s Business and Real Estate practice group in the Denver office. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he served as the notes editor for the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology. Prior to law school, Kenney served as an Army officer and exited the Army with the rank of captain. Kenney is returning to Sherman & Howard after completing the firm’s 2022 Summer Associate Program.
 
Hannah Mink is an associate in the firm’s Water & Natural Resources group in the Denver office. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law, where she served as the editor-in-chief for the Wyoming Law Review. Mink also worked as a law clerk with the Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division in Denver and served as an extern to Chief Magistrate Judge Kelly Rankin in the District of Wyoming.
 
Spencer Pedemonte is an associate in both the Business and Real Estate and Tax and Probate practice groups in the Denver office. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Montana Alexander Blewett III School of Law, where he had a Legal Fellowship with the Wikimedia Foundation and worked with in-house counsel for a digital mapping company. Pedemonte is a recipient of the Montana Bar Intellectual Property Section Graduation Award. Pedemonte is returning to Sherman & Howard after completing the firm’s 2022 Summer Associate Program.
 
Adam “Rick” Rivera is an associate in our Labor and Employment practice group in the Denver office. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School, where he volunteered with the Korey Wise Innocence Project and Barrister’s Council. Prior to law school, Rivera spent nearly 20 years in the restaurant industry in Texas and Colorado, worked as a substitute teacher, and volunteered with several organizations to help low-income individuals and families. Rivera is returning to Sherman & Howard after completing the firm’s 2022 Summer Associate Program.
 
Jessie Salas is an associate in the firm’s Public Finance practice group in the Denver office. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law, where she served as the research editor for the Wyoming Law Review. Salas previously worked as a summer law clerk for Strive Health in Denver. Salas is also an accomplished, classically trained cellist and she has a Masters of Music from the University of Wyoming. Salas is returning to Sherman & Howard after completing the firm’s 2022 Summer Associate Program.
