Shumaker Adds Experienced Lawyer to its Growing Corporate, Tax and Transactions Service Line
Shumaker announced today that Michael (Mike) Marr has joined the firm in an of counsel position in its Charlotte office, where he will be a member of the Corporate, Tax and Transactions Service Line. His arrival immediately follows the addition of prominent attorney and Partner Danny Burgess (Dade City, Florida) and Associate Julianne DeLeo (Tampa) who joined the group last month.
Mike brings with him more than three decades of experience in the Private Credit/Equity and Financial Services Industries. He has formed two registered broker-dealers, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Financial and Operations Principal.

Although Mike says no two days are alike for him, he regularly focuses on entrepreneurial matters, including general corporate, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, financings, and strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining Shumaker, Mike was the Director of Portfolio Management for Capitala Group, where he was responsible for the management of the funds’ portfolio company investments. He was also a partner in the Corporate Group at Smith Helms Mullis & Moore in Charlotte.
