Corporate And Financial Regulatory Partner Joins Nelson Mullins In Atlanta

Robert Klingler has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Financial Regulatory and Corporate practice in Atlanta as a partner from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, where he was also a partner.

Klingler has over 15 years of experience in all facets of legal issues affecting banks and other financial services firms. He has significant experience counseling community banks in regulatory compliance, capital raising, and strategic combinations, including representing purchasers, sellers, and participants in mergers of equals.  Klingler has also represented banks in asset transactions, including branch transactions and sales to credit unions. He has represented global asset management firms and other bank investors in debt and equity investments in financial institutions, assisting with structuring investments, due diligence, and regulatory compliance matters. Since the passage of the CARES Act, Klingler has advised numerous lenders and borrowers under the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program.

Klingler attended the University of Florida where he received both his M.B.A. and J.D. He started his legal career as an associate with Powell Goldstein Frazer & Murphy LLP.   Additionally, Klingler initiated the University of Florida’s parliamentary debate program and served as the assistant coach where he led the program to national prominence.
