BakerHostetler Continues Litigation Growth with Addition of Class Action Defense and Complex Litigation Partner
In his prior position, Troyer was responsible for the legal affairs of a rapidly growing company with manufacturing, distribution and administrative operations on five continents. He oversaw all matters pertaining to corporate governance, commercial transactions, intellectual property, labor and employment, compliance, privacy, environmental issues, trade, litigation, and real estate in a global enterprise.
Before that, Troyer was a partner at a Cleveland-based law firm, where he led the firm’s Class Action Defense Practice and co-led its Life Sciences and Securities and Shareholder Litigation practices. In private practice, Troyer represented clients in a broad range of complex litigation, including disputes involving securities, commercial transactions, bankruptcy, pharmaceutical mass torts and consumer class actions.
“Over the past year, we have added a number of exceptional lawyers to our deep litigation bench. Brian Troyer further adds to that strength, and his experience with a variety of litigation issues makes him a good fit with our highly regarded team,” said W. Ray Whitman, chair of BakerHostetler’s national Litigation Practice Group.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brian to BakerHostetler and to the Cleveland office,” said Matthew Tenerowicz, Cleveland office managing partner. “His experience as a litigator and counselor – both as in-house counsel and outside counsel – on a full range of issues for both public and private companies will allow Brian to provide tremendous value to our clients.”
Troyer earned his Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from the College of Wooster. He received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
“I am excited to be reentering private practice and to have the chance to once again help clients execute winning legal strategies in complex, high-stakes litigation. BakerHostetler is well known for its litigation work on behalf of major corporations nationally, and I look forward to furthering that reputation and offering clients the firm’s world-class services,” said Troyer.
