Jackson Lewis Expands Immigration Group With Addition of Brenda J. Oliver

Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Brenda J. Oliver has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. Region office from Fragomen, where she focused her practice on business-related immigration matters.

“Brenda is a talented attorney in the immigration arena and brings a great scope of knowledge to the practice,” said Immigration group co-leaders Otieno B. Ombok, Michael H. Neifach and Amy L. Peck, in a joint statement. “Her experience in obtaining nonimmigrant visas, immigrant visas, and I-9 compliance will be of tremendous value to our domestic and multinational clients. We are very excited about her arrival at the firm.”

For more than 20 years, Brenda has helped clients from a variety of industries obtain visas and permanent residency, and maintain compliant programs. She provides advice and counsel to domestic-based and foreign employers to facilitate transfers of high-level and special skilled employees to the U.S.

Brenda has been assisting clients in obtaining nonimmigrant visas, as well as immigrant visas and permanent residency based on employment and/or family sponsorship. She supports clients with the preparation of and guidance in the process of nonimmigrant visa petitions, employment-based permanent residency petitions and labor certification applications. Additionally, Brenda provides advice on I-9 compliance and assisting with company audits to ensure compliance with U.S. employment authorization practices.

“Jackson Lewis was an obvious choice, given the firm’s combined strength in employment and business-related immigration issues,” said Brenda. “I’m excited to work with my new colleagues and leverage Jackson Lewis’ top-notch resources to further expand my practice and the services offered to our clients.”

Brenda earned her J.D. from William & Mary Law School and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
