New addition to the Baker McKenzie Transfer Pricing team

Baker McKenzie announces the arrival of Chiara Giorgia Monga as counsel in the tax department.

Chiara Giorgia Monga is a chartered account and she has many years' experience gained in a leading international company. Within this company, she had the opportunity to specialize in various aspects of international taxation and, in particular, in transfer pricing.

The main activities carried out include preparing documentation and creating transfer pricing policies. Among the matters that she has explored in-depth, she assessed the tax implications deriving from corporate reorganization projects. Chiara has an excellent understanding of the issues connected to permanent establishments and related disputes, arising from the financial administration to whose defense she contributed in numerous cases.

Chiara's involvement in various projects has allowed her to develop a recognized understanding of the mechanisms underlying the economic structures of many sectors, including luxury/fashion, other consumer products, pharmaceuticals and TLC.

Chiara has been a speaker at numerous technical conferences, and she has participated in drafting the transfer pricing sections of publications dedicated to the fashion and food and beverage sectors.

Francesco Pisciotta, managing partner of Baker McKenzie and co-head of the Tax Practice Group with Michele Santocchini, commented:

"Chiara's arrival is part of the consolidation strategy of the Transfer Pricing team, a practice that has already seen other prestigious entries in the recent past and for which we expect to grow further. This is an area in which our Firm is recognized among the leaders in the sector and which we believe is among the driving forces in the current international tax system and in the perspective of the evolution of national regulations toward taxation on a global scale. Chiara's long experience — gained in the most important Italian and foreign multinationals — will allow us to offer our customers an even broader perspective on the dynamics of enhancing economic flows in international intragroup transactions."
