Burke Warren Welcomes New Attorney Amanda Anderson
Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C., a full service Chicago-based law firm, is pleased to announce that Amanda K. Anderson has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Amanda is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Brokerage practice group. As an attorney and licensed managing broker and having served as Vice President of Member Care and Professional Standards for close to 20 years for the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (“CAR”), Amanda is uniquely suited to work with real estate brokers.
Amanda and other firm attorneys work with brokerage companies on a wide variety of issues including licensing/professional standards, policies and procedures, counseling to avoid license issues and litigation, commission disputes, ethics complaints, license defense, representing brokers in lawsuits arising out of providing brokerage services, and working with startup brokers to get them licensed and up and running.

In her most recent role at CAR as Vice President of Member Care and Professional Standards, Amanda oversaw and administered the organization’s professional standards process for their 15,500+ members. She also served as staff liaison to the Grievance and Professional Standards Committees. In this capacity, Amanda has administered thousands of ethics complaints, arbitrations and mediations. She also served as a certified mediator during this time and successfully helped to settle hundreds of REALTOR® disputes. Amanda is known as an expert in Professional Standards and Dispute Resolution and is well-recognized at the local, state and national level.
In her role as a trainer at CAR, Amanda created and taught courses designed to help REALTORS® succeed in their careers and avoid legal and ethical pitfalls. She has conducted hundreds of presentations to REALTORS® and brokerages communicating tips to avoid legal and/or ethical issues, risk management assessment, current market trends, public policy issues, and organizational programs and services.
In addition, Amanda served as a managing broker for NIREIN, a real estate holding and referral company which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chicago Association of REALTORS®. In this capacity, she sponsored 600+ real estate licensees.
Amanda has extensive experience and relationships across the entire Chicago area real estate brokerage community.
Ms. Anderson earned her law degree at John Marshall Law School (now the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law). She earned an M.B.A. in Commercial Real Estate at Roosevelt University and a B.A. in Industrial & Organizational Psychology at Purdue University.
