Greenberg Traurig Grows Corporate Practice, Adding Steven Bartz as Dallas Shareholder

Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP welcomes Steven Bartz as a shareholder in its Corporate Practice in the Dallas office. The addition of Bartz is part of the office’s strategic plan to grow its Corporate Practice to further meet client demand. Bartz joins the firm from DLA Piper.

“Our Corporate team in Dallas has grown in a dynamic way over the last several years, and Steve will be another excellent addition as we continue to focus on the future. His significant experience in capital formation and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) will enhance our capabilities and serve our clients well,” said Joseph F. Coniglio, managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Dallas office. “We look forward to working with him and seeing the impact he will make serving clients on our collaborative platform at Greenberg Traurig.”

Bartz focuses his practice on transactions involving sophisticated joint ventures (“JVs”) and strategic alliances. Over the past 15 years, Bartz has concentrated his practice on the creation, negotiation, and implementation of both JVs unrelated to M&A transactions, such as private investment funds, and in connection with M&A transactions. Bartz also advises clients in connection with M&A transactions unrelated to JVs, private placements, and compliance and regulatory issues relating to corporate governance, Advisers Act status and compliance, Investment Company Act matters, broker-dealer matters, and securities regulation as it applies to private transactions. He regularly represents and counsels clients on matters that cover a wide spectrum of sectors, such as the finance, hospitality and leisure, sport and entertainment, real estate, healthcare, and energy sectors, including the upstream, midstream, and oilfield services segments of the energy industry.

“Greenberg Traurig’s strategic growth, global platform and established reputation were important factors in my decision to come onboard.” Bartz said. “I am beyond thrilled to grow my practice at a firm that shares the same enthusiasm for contributing to the innovation and success of clients.”

Bartz received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and an A.B. from Duke University. He has been recognized in The Legal 500 US in the M&A/Corporate and Commercial—M&A Middle Market (Sub-$500M) and M&A Middle Market ($500M-999M) categories. Bartz is admitted to practice law in Georgia and Texas.
