Mayer Brown Welcomes Ameer Ahmad in Chicago

Mayer Brown announced the addition of a highly recognized M&A and capital markets lawyer to their Chicago office. Ameer Ahmad will join as a partner in the Corporate & Securities practice. He joins from Greenberg Traurig.
Mayer Brown’s leader of the global Corporate & Securities practice, Marc F. Sperber, said, “The continued expansion of our corporate capabilities in the US is a strategic priority for our firm. With his impressive experience in M&A transactions, capital markets, restructuring and corporate governance, Ameer plays a pivotal role in achieving that goal. Looking down the road, we anticipate adding other partners to our growing practice in the near term.”
Ahmad will focus his practice on advising buyers and sellers through transactions such as public and private acquisitions and dispositions, LBOs, restructurings and joint ventures. He will also counsel clients in capital markets matters including public and private securities offerings and private placements.
Partner-in-charge Rebecca S. Eisner of the Chicago office added, “From significant local matters to the largest and most complex international clients and engagements, our Chicago office handles them all. Ameer and his skill set fit very nicely into our range of services that we offer to clients. We are very pleased to welcome him to the firm.”
