Venable LLP announced the addition of Angela J. Crowder, a highly respected real estate lawyer, to their New York office as counsel. Crowder joins the real estate practice from Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann LLC in New Orleans.

Crowder will focus her practice on commercial real estate and finance matters. Her previous cases have included joint ventures, loan sales, workouts, leases and development agreements, private financings, construction contracts, purchase and sales agreements, and general corporate matters.

Chair Peter Koffler of the New York Real Estate Group said, “Angela’s well-rounded experience in virtually every type of real estate transaction, and in representing clients in an in-house and outside counsel role, will add significant depth to our New York-based bench of real estate attorneys. Moreover, her experience advising public benefit corporations in tax credit and funding mechanism transactions complement our team in New York, which advises government agencies and local development corporations in similarly complex projects.”

Partner-in-Charge Matt McLaughlin of the New York office, added, “Venable’s sophisticated and comprehensive real estate practice is central to the firm’s growth in New York. Angela’s stellar background is a great fit for the group and our clients in this area.”

Crowder earned her J.D. from Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University and her B.A. from Louisiana State University.
