Loeb & Loeb Adds to New York Team
Summary: Loeb & Loeb added a new partner to their New York Real Estate Department.
Loeb & Loeb LLP expanded their New York office with the addition of a partner to their Real Estate Department. Lisa A. Gootee joined the firm from Haynes & Boone LLP in New York.
Chair Raymond A. Sanseverino of Loeb & Loeb’s Real Estate Department said, “Lisa is a smart and talented transactional attorney whose market knowledge and deal making skills will be a terrific asset to our clients. Her substantial experience in real estate financings, acquisitions and developments add to our full-service capabilities, and her client-first approach makes her a great fit for our team.”
Gootee will focus her practice on commercial real estate finance matters such as the origination and restructuring of mortgage and mezzanine loans. She represents equity clients in acquisitions of large portfolios of commercial properties like hotels.
Loeb & Loeb Chairman Michael D. Beck added, “On the heels of Loeb’s addition of real estate litigators Gil Feder and Evan Farber last month, Lisa’s arrival further strengthens our first rate estate platform in New York and nationwide. We are very pleased to welcome her.”
Before her work at Haynes & Boone, Gootee spent just over two years as counsel to the New York State Homeless Housing & Assistance Corporation, a public benefit corporation in New York that aims to find financing for not-for-profit corporations and municipalities so they can build homeless housing. She has also worked for Skadden, Arps, Slate & Meagher & Flom LLP.
She said of her new position, “Loeb is a leader in the New York real estate market, and the firm’s national reputation and resources presented an attractive opportunity for me to enhance and expand my practice. I’m excited to join the ranks of this impressive team.”
Gootee earned her J.D. from Albany Law School and her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
