The London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP added a new addition to their Restructuring Practice Group. Sean Lacey will join the group as a partner. His focus will be on financial restructurings and specialized lending transactions.

Chairman Jeffrey C. Hammes of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee said, “Sean has earned a reputation as one of the leading restructuring and finance lawyers in the London market. His extensive experience advising clients on complex transactions across a range of credit products will further enhance our European restructuring offering. He is an exciting new addition to our market-leading, global restructuring practice.”

Lacey joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP where was co-leader of their alternative capital group in the global financial institutions group. There he advised a variety of clients in investment funds, financial institutions, corporate borrowers and more. His career has included time working in legal and commercial teams at two top-tier, global investment banks.

He earned a degree in modern history and modern languages from Christ Church, Oxford University. He is highly regarded as a restructuring and finance lawyer in Chambers UK and Legal 500 UK, which describes him as “extremely clever and very commercial.”
