Hinshaw Gets Welcome Addition in Minneapolis

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a U.S. law firm, announced the addition of Michael T. Hatting to their Minneapolis office. Hatting will be a partner in the Commercial Transactions group. Hatting has 16 years of experience in private practice and in-house counsel for real estate development companies.

Hinshaw Commercial Transactions Chair Dean Parker said, “We are very pleased to welcome Mike to the firm. His broad transactional experience in real estate development, and his emphasis on commercial lending and historic tax credit financings, adds significant new experience and capabilities to the existing strengths of our real estate, construction and land use practices.”
Hatting is excited about the move. He said, “Hinshaw has a national platform and a deep bench for real estate, land use and construction. I’m really excited at the opportunity to join the firm, and look forward to helping clients on a wide range of real estate transactions here in the Upper Midwest and around the country.”
He has significant experience in commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, joint venture financing, project development, property management, leasing, and formation of real estate investment funds. A common sense approach was developed during his role for seven years as Executive Vice-President and General Counsel to a Twin Cities real estate developer. He earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law and his B.A. from Macalester College.
