Of Counsel Added to IP and Technology Group at Blank Rome
Summary: With extensive experience in intellectual property matters, Louis A. Riley will be a valuable addition to Blank Rome’s Houston Intellectual Property and Technology Group.
The Houston office of Blank Rome is receiving a new of counsel member in the Intellectual Property and Technology Group. Louis A. Riley, who joins the firm from McAfee Inc., will be based in the Houston office.
While working at McAfee, Inc., Riley served as senior vice president and general counsel, leading an international legal department of commercial transactions, export, compliance, government contracting, litigation, and privacy professionals. Riley also served as chair of McAfee’s Governance Risk and Compliance Committee. He has over 20 years of experience working on intellectual property issues and serving in leadership roles.
Riley is registered as a patent attorney with a vast knowledge base in intellectual property and patent portfolio development and representation, commercial and technology transactions, litigation, privacy, HR, compliance, investigations, equity compensation, M&A activities, export compliance, corporate governance, and government contracting.
Riley is admitted to practice in Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, USPTO, U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Texas, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. He earned his J.D. from South Texas College of Law and his B.S. from the University of Houston in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Riley also has top security clearance through the U.S. Department of Defense.
Blank Rome has made several additions to its national IP group in New York, Washington D.C., and Houston.
