Tax Fraud Charges On Leslie Jacobs

Leslie Jacobs was charged with tax fraud in federal court in Ohio on Thursday. He is a senior partner in Thompson Hine's competition, antitrust and white collar crime practice group and also a former president of the Ohio State Bar Association. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio, charged Jacobs for supposedly underreporting his income from the firm by more than $250,000 between 2004 and 2007. Court filings show 4 federal income tax returns filed by Jacobs between 2004 and 2007 that exaggerated his business expenses by $25,000 to $94,000 so as to lower the taxable income he collected from his Thompson Hine partnership. Prosecutors believe that his income in each of those years should have ranged from $633,303 to $759,973.
