1,300 jobs lost in the legal sector in September
According to the preliminary September employment report of Bureau of Labor Statistics, analysts' predictions were outpaced by the overall economy that added 103,000 jobs. But it did not work the same with legal sector. Around 1,300 jobs were lost last month. The legal industry has now suffered two straight months of job losses after adding 4,100 positions in July. The BLS's adjusted numbers for August show 300 jobs lost that month; while 100 jobs were added by the industry during August. According to the BLS report, the legal sector has seen a net loss of 1,500 jobs till date in 2011 and has shed 3,500 jobs since September 2010.
