Glen Fine, 1970's star basketball player for Harvard University, would be joining the white-collar and securities-litigation practice for Dechert LLP, the University City-based law firm. He was the inspector general of Justice Department from 2000 until beginning of 2011. During this period, he investigated how the Justice Department dropped the ball in advance of the Sept. 11 attacks and into claims that the Bush administration forced out US attorneys for political purposes. Fine's recruitment is not only a feather in the cap for Dechert but also symbolic of the severe competition among big law firms for top talent.
