Stephanie Thacker, Charleston attorney, was nominated by the president to give out on the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. She filled a seat that had been free since the death of Blane Michael, Appellate Judge. Thacker serve as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of West Virginia and in the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. for 12 years before becoming a member of the law firm of Allen Guthrie & Thomas in Charleston.
