Jones Walker forms Katrina recovery team
Jones Walker has formed a disaster-recovery team to support clients with their efforts to recover from Hurricane Katrina. The team assists in insurance coverage, tax incentives and abatement, employment law, corporate reorganization and bankruptcy, FEMA and federal disaster assistance, SBA business claims, environmental and clean-up, real estate, and construction. In addition, the firm has added three new attorneys: one in its Miami office; one in its Washington, DC, office; and one in its New Orleans office, which is reopening on October 17. Duane Morris merges with Hancock Rothert & Bunshoft
Duane Morris is merging with San Francisco firm Hancock Rothert & Bunshoft, effective January 1, 2006. The addition of Hancock's 60 attorneys will bring the San Francisco office to approximately 90 attorneys. In addition, Duane Morris is adding five lawyers in Los Angeles from Coudert Brothers, for a total of 130 attorneys in California. The Recorder

U.K. firm Herbert Smith has hired a Paris real estate partner and six associates from Lefevre Pelletier & Associes to launch a French law property practice. The hire gives Herbert Smith 18 partners in Paris. Legal Week
Pullman & Comley opens branch in Connecticut
Bridgeport, CT, firm Pullman & Comley has opened branch offices in White Plains, NY, and Greenwich, CT. The White Plains office will be staffed by a lateral partner joining from Cohn Birnbaum and Shea, and the Greenwich office will be staffed by two of counsel joining from Hopper & Stanfield. Littler Global names Muldoon as director of global resources
Littler Global, an international employment-focused migration firm affiliated with Littler Mendelson, has named Belkis Cervantes Muldoon as its director of global resources. Muldoon formerly served as director of Motorola's global immigration services. Firm Press Release
Crowell & Moring adds four lawyers from Gleiss Lutz
Crowell & Moring has added four lawyers to its Brussels office, including an antitrust partner from German firm Gleiss Lutz, bringing that office to 18 lawyers. In addition, the firm added two former Pinsent Masons partners to its London office. Firm Press Release
