Danice Kowalczyk is a Managing Director in our New York office. Prior to joining BCG, Danice spent five years honing her skills as an intellectual property attorney at White & Case, LLP in New York City where she was an elected member of the Lawyers Committee. Danice graduated from Brooklyn Law School, cum laude, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Brooklyn Law Review. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Theatre Arts, summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Danice has extensive experience in partner, counsel, and associate placement. She also counsels her law firm clients on growth, acquisition of new practice groups, and firm-to-firm moves. Danice's strong relationship with top firms in the U.S. and international markets has earned her recognition in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, London, Canada, Paris, and Asia. A native of the East Coast, Danice maintains a particularly close knit relationship with her Manhattan-based firms, who recognize her from her days at White & Case, LLP (1994-2004) and celebrate her ongoing successful relationship with the law via her current role as Managing Director at BCG.
As an attorney, herself, Danice is keenly aware of the goals candidates seek to achieve, and the pitfalls they seek to avoid, when entering the legal job market. She is further cognizant of law firms' desire to find the "right person." Having interviewed countless applicants during her practice days, Danice knows what firms look for in potential new hires - and run from. This dual-sided knowledge has directly contributed to Danice's and her candidates' success.
Danice also credits her success in legal search and placement to her disciplined background in the arts. Prior to law school, Danice was a professional dancer and actor with several NYC-based theatre companies, including The Curan Repertory Company at Theatre 22 and the Modern Theatre of Myth at Times Square. Today, Danice is an active participant in the Brooklyn/Gowanus art scene and Noho fashion collectives.
A resident of the Upper West Side and Olympic distance triathlete, Danice lives in Manhattan with her significant other, who is also an attorney, and their 4 year old pug Jack Stanley.
