The candidate should have experience in one or more of the following areas: counseling clients on compliance with federal, state and local environmental and land use regulatory requirements, including water, air, waste, toxics, wetlands, endangered species, land use planning, and environmental review; obtaining state and federal approvals and permits for development projects, including world class technology companies, health care providers, renewable energy developers and producers, commercial and residential developers, and public entities; litigation, including defense of environmental, natural resources, land use, NEPA/CEQA, and consumer products litigation and citizen suits. Bar Admission in California is required.

The candidate will advise public and private companies on compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations. Will serve in Defense of Clean Water Act citizen suits alleging violations of the California General Permit for storm water discharges. Enforcement actions by, and voluntary cleanups with, the Regional Water Quality Control Boards and DTSC. Investigation and remediation of contamination (including petroleum, perchlorate, metals, and PCE and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs)). Conducting due diligence regarding environmental liabilities associated with real estate transactions and development agreements, and negotiating and drafting contract provisions to resolve such issues. Experience with brownfields site cleanup and redevelopment, remediating soil vapor and groundwater contamination is desired. Environmental litigation experience is a plus. Must have $500,000 in portable business and be CA barred.
