New York City office seeks real estate staff attorney to represent various lenders in connection with the origination and consummation of loan transactions, the acquisition and disposition of real estate, lease analysis and general representation of cooperatives and condominiums.

This large national firm specializes in labor and employment, although the firm's attorneys also practice construction law, government contracts, and related litigation. The firm's clients are incredibly diverse and relatively stable; the firm currently represents over 200 of the Fortune 500 companies. The work environment is professional, yet informal; the firm recently instituted a year-round business casual dress code for both attorneys and staff. Tremendous growth opportunities exist for resourceful, energetic attorneys. This well-reputed firm has additional branches in key locations across the country and abroad. According to one associate, the firm's attorneys don't live at the office; the firm requires associates to bill 1950 hours annually and awards bonuses for hours billed over that target. All hours spent on approved pro bono work are credited toward the 1950 billable hour requirement.

New York City office seeks healthcare attorney having 4-7 years of experience. The candidate will assist some clients with the regulatory aspects of their SEC filings and research changes in the applicable regulations with a view to editing 10-K's and other reports accordingly. Should preferably have a strong background and range of experience in healthcare regulatory matters including interpretation of federal and state healthcare regulations, HIPAA, anti-kickback and fraud and abuse and exposure to applying that knowledge in support of structuring transactions to comply with applicable laws. The ability to draft and negotiate commercial agreements in the healthcare space as well as some M&A would be a plus.

Over a century old, this firm is a strong regional presence. With its New York office being its most cosmopolitan office by far, salaries are not competitive with national firms with similar practice areas. However, with well developed practice areas particularly in state court commercial litigation, this firm consistently delivers good work. The firm strongly prefers the Northeastern born and bred--from law schools to clients. And, more importantly, associates are expected to make substantial contributions to the firm in terms of work product and, over time, to business development. Manhattan associates who feel superior to their suburban counterparts will not be tolerated--the order of the day to contribution and cooperation.
