Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and independent Senior Employment Litigation Attorney for its Oakland, California office. This remote position requires the attorney to be based in California and available for appearances across Northern California, including depositions, court hearings, and mediations. The role involves managing a dynamic caseload of approximately 25 cases, including individual FEHA employment cases, child sex abuse cases, and therapist abuse cases. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney to take on leadership responsibilities.

Duties

  • Manage 20+ cases in litigation.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Draft and argue motions, including oppositions to motions for summary judgment.
  • Manage discovery, including document review and production.
  • Attend court hearings and mediations.
  • Develop litigation strategy.
  • Delegate work to associate attorneys, legal assistants, and paralegals.
  • Work effectively in a remote environment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years as a plaintiff's employment attorney.
  • Experience in taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and negotiating at mediations.
  • Trial and arbitration experience.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written skills.
  • Proven management experience supervising support staff and associate attorneys.
  • Ability to prioritize litigation workload and manage time effectively.

Education

  • JD and California Bar License required.

Certifications

  • California Bar License.

  • Strong leadership and delegation abilities.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in managing complex litigation cases.
