Job Overview:

A law firm in Florham Park, NJ, seeks a highly qualified Patent Agent to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate should be a registered practitioner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, possessing a Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline. This individual will play a pivotal role in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as conducting IP due diligence and Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses.

Job Details:

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications in compliance with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office regulations.
• Conduct IP due diligence and Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses.
• Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to gather necessary information for patent applications.
• Provide strategic counsel on patent-related matters.

Requirements:

• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
• 2 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Experience in a law firm setting is desirable.
• Excellent academic credentials.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.

Certifications:

• Must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
