Job Overview:
A prominent litigation-focused law firm in Knoxville, TN, is actively seeking an experienced Trial Attorney with a strong background in premises liability and civil litigation. The selected individual will lead all aspects of trial preparation and courtroom advocacy while managing a robust docket of active cases. The role involves strategic case development, frequent client interaction, and the opportunity to take multiple cases to verdict with dedicated litigation support.

Duties:

  • Manage approximately 150 personal injury matters, with 50+ cases typically in active litigation

  • Serve as lead attorney in jury trials, from voir dire through verdict

  • Handle depositions, motion practice, and mediation sessions independently

  • Develop litigation strategy and oversee all legal filings and court appearances

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure transparency and engagement

  • Collaborate with assigned paralegals and case managers to streamline case progress

  • Apply advanced litigation tools, including AI-assisted systems, for document preparation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation (5-8 years preferred)

  • Must be actively licensed and in good standing with the Tennessee State Bar

  • Plaintiff-side litigation experience preferred; defense-side also considered

  • At least 5 first-chair jury trials required; 10+ preferred

  • Strong grasp of the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence

  • Willingness and ability to try cases frequently

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • An active Tennessee Bar license is required

  • Multiple State Bar admissions preferred

Skills:
