Job Overview:

A law firm specializing in defense litigation is seeking a Junior Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Buffalo, NY. The successful candidate will be able to work on cases involving Fortune 500 companies, major retail businesses, national transportation carriers, and insurance companies, defending against litigation claims throughout New York State. The Junior Defense Litigation Associate Attorney will work directly with litigation partners and is expected to bring at least 1 year of relevant experience to the role.

Duties:

• Assist in representing Fortune 500 companies, major retail businesses, national transportation carriers, and insurance companies in defense of litigation claims.
• Work closely with litigation partners to develop case strategies and execute legal proceedings.
• Conduct depositions and gather relevant information to strengthen defense arguments.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, with attention to detail and adherence to legal standards.
• Engage in legal research to stay informed about relevant laws and precedents.
• Collaborate with clients, experts, and other legal professionals to build effective case defenses.
• Attend court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings as necessary.

Requirements:

• Admitted to practice law in the state of New York.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in defense litigation.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrated deposition experience.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
