Associate Attorney

A leading law firm in New York City, NY, seeks a highly qualified Associate Attorney specializing in tax matters. The ideal candidate is expected to bring a portable book of business exceeding $300,000, with rates surpassing $500 per hour. This position provides a unique opportunity for an experienced tax attorney to contribute to significant cases within a dynamic legal environment.

Duties:

• Provide expert legal counsel and representation to clients in tax matters, including tax planning, compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and provide comprehensive advice on tax implications.
• Draft, review, and negotiate tax-related documents, including contracts, agreements, and tax settlement proposals.
• Advise clients on complex tax issues, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and legal proceedings related to tax disputes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop proactive tax planning strategies for clients.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney, specializing in tax law.
• Proven track record of cultivating and maintaining a portable book of business exceeding $300,000.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Certified Tax Law Specialist (CTL) or other relevant tax certifications.
