A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a talented Patent Agent with experience in Intellectual Property (IP), particularly in drafting and patent prosecution. The ideal candidate should have a background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with design engineering experience in a chip company being advantageous. Candidates with expertise in networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless networks, or similar areas are preferred. The individual must be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and possess 2-6 years of legal experience.

Duties:

  • Draft and file patent applications in various technological fields.
  • Conduct prior art searches and analyze patentability.
  • Assist attorneys in patent prosecution efforts, including responding to Office Actions.
  • Collaborate with inventors and clients to strategize patent portfolio development.
  • Provide technical expertise during patent litigation proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-6 years of legal experience in patent prosecution.
  • Strong understanding of Intellectual Property laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting patent applications and responses to Office Actions.
  • Knowledge of patent prosecution procedures and best practices.
  • Familiarity with computer science, electrical engineering, or chip design principles.
  • Experience with networking, software, or wireless network technologies is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
