Job Overview:

A well-established law firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Associate Attorney with 2–7 years of experience to join its Dallas litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to handle a full caseload of civil defense matters from inception to resolution, including general liability, product liability, personal injury, and transportation-related claims. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and capable of managing litigation independently while maintaining strong relationships with clients and claims representatives.

Location:

  • Dallas, TX

Duties:

  • Manage insurance defense matters through all stages of litigation

  • Handle a variety of claims including general liability, product liability, personal injury, and transportation-related litigation

  • Draft and argue motions, respond to discovery, and manage pre-trial strategy

  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts

  • Conduct case investigation, risk assessment, and legal research

  • Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations

  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel

  • Provide timely status updates and ensure deadlines are met throughout the life of each case

Requirements:

  • 2 to 7 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on insurance defense

  • Background in handling a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision

  • Familiarity with Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and evidentiary standards

  • Strong understanding of litigation processes from initial evaluation to trial

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar

Skills:

  • Strong oral advocacy and written communication skills

  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail

  • Proactive, organized, and capable of working independently

  • Client-service oriented with strong interpersonal skills
